Please give us a short summary of your website?
We provide dark and medium roast as well as green Kona coffee beans. It is affordably priced for a genuine specialty product because we would like to share it with others who may not be able to "splurge" as often as they would like.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
We love coffee, and Kona is out of this world.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
This is it - it was published 2 weeks ago.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
We wanted to communicate the extraordinary origin of Kona coffee which is grown in only one small area of the world, on the Big Island of Hawaii.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
Hopefully, it communicates our love for the product and how unique it really is. There is a lot of care that goes into growing this product and we are grateful to our supplier for his hard work.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
We would like to keep it for years to come.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
We know this is a long time commitment, not a "get rich quick" idea. As with any worthwhile investment, it will take both time and money.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
We would learn all we could about marketing it and reaching those we would most like to reach with it.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
We would make the necessary changes to do so.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Getting the first website published was a huge learning curve. Now that we have done that we have a better feel for what the costs and challenges will be.
What has been your biggest challenge?
The details of how to promote it for optimal search engine listing while keeping the best interest of the customer in mind.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
It is too early to tell - we hope listing with you and other directories.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
It has happened slower than we had hoped.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
As I stated above, we know this is a long term commitment. We will continue as long as we can afford to.
