US urged to create separate food safety administrative council

The US Food and Drug Administration (US FDA) might be having so many things to work on its plates. This has proven to be detrimental to the US food safety system, which is said to be outdated and fragmented.
Now, certain public health professionals are urging the government to remove the F in the FDA and make it a separate food safety administration firm with a separate food safety czar. Will it work?
