When did you start your website and why?

We started our website early in 2007. We have a history of bringing business to attractions and restaurants. We are also a publsisher of guidebooks in which there are discounts to variations attractions in over 40 destinations around the world.

Please give us a short summary of your website, business model, etc

www.Discountlondon.net enables the user to get a 20% discount off admission prices at London and Uk attractions and London restaurants for up to 6 people. There is no prepay, registration or restrcition, all the user need do is print the voucher and take it to either attraction (to recive 20% off admission prices) or restaurant(to receive 20% of their total food and drinks bill)

Attractions in the programme include but are not limited to London Zoo, london Dungeon, London Aquarium, Kew Gardens. Whilst restaurants in the priogarmme include Planet Hollywood, Bella Italia and Ed's easy diner

What has been the most difficult part of creating and running your website?

Getting people to realise there is no catch!

What has been the easist part of operating your website?

Putting it together, it is a very sinmple site that just tries to make it simple for the user to get their voucher code and then go off to redeem it.

What was your biggest mistake?

Not doing it sooner

We maintain it in house

1000's of tourists that want to save money in London

What are your views on ecommerce and the future of the internet?

Ecommerce has its place just like regular sales does. It is clearly a growth industry but clearly has a way to go in terms of internet security if it is to convert the more sceptical or security concious. The future of the internet is certainly mobile internet, however at present the majority of products availabe to access it for most customers hardly lend themselves to it for all but the most determined, with screen sizes and keypads to small to really use for any real period of time.

What are your views on Search Engine Optimization (SEO)?

It's just so hard to keep up with what want to keep you high on a natural search, it is understandable that they neeed to keep changing the rules to stop misuse, but this can be expensive for the smaller company having to keep updated with nnew rules

What are your views on Search Engines? Have they helped or hindered your website?

Certainly helped, without search engines it would just not be possible to reach the volume of customers that we need to.

Search engines and Editorial links

Paid for advertising
