People beware. It is not only in developing nations that you should be careful with when dealing with ice cubes in restaurants and hotels. Even in some of the world's richest cities, bacterial infestation is common. An example is Chicago, Illinois.
In a recent Chicago Sun Times report, the newspaper checked the purity of ice cubes in 49 restos all over Chicago. What they found out: roughly 40% of the ice cubes found are dirtier than the toilet water in the Sun building. Talk about EWWWW.
