Little Dan's BBQ Interview

By Interviewer at 12/07/07 18:02

Name of your website?

Little Dan's BBQ

Your name?

Scott

Your Location (city, etc)

Lewiston, Auburn

Please give us a short summary of your website?

A new ONLINE image for a great restaurant and catering (Barbeque and Gourmet) services. Discounts and Promotions. Recipies and Testimonials.

Menus are ONLINE and downloadable in PDF format

What inspired you to launch your own website?

For promotion of the existing restaurant and extra focus on the catering side of the business for more activity in slow periods.

When did you launch your first website?

The original www.littledansbbq.com was created three years ago. A flat html, static site that was not informative or dynamic. A need for current and easily updated called for a re-design.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

It was named after the restaurant.

What makes Little Dan's BBQ different from other, similar restaurants in the area?

Quality, Service, Variety and the ability to serve a party of 1 person up to a part of 2,600 people. Our recipes and techniques are true to Southern Style and Flavors. Our testimonials demonstrate our ability to meet and exceed the expectations of our customers and clients.

What is your eventual goal?

The eventual goal is to be able to provide ONLINE ordering for both dine-in and take out customers.

Little Dan's hopes to revolutionize the regions acceptance for real smoked barbeque. Maine is going to appreciate BBQ more if more people visit the website, and subsequently the restaurant.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

It is too early to tell the real success. Joomla CMS has made content management much more convenient and efficient.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

More photography, more time exchanging links, e-mail group functionality for promotions.

If there were a way to share the exquisite taste of Little Dan's BBQ to our website visitors :-) Wouldn't that be something!!!

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Yes. We have a solid team of web support personnel lined up if that were ever to be a problem.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

The most frustrating part of the new website was dealing with the previous host & registrar to free up the domain name.

What has been your biggest challenge?

Search Engine Optimization and Useability.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Good use of Keywords and Link Exchanges with industry news groups, suppliers and local business operators.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

Content, Content, Content. Can't have enough good content!

How long have you run the site already?

Website has been live for one week.

Who should visit the website?

Anyone planning a trip through "Vacationland" (Maine) and traveling anywhere within 100 miles of Little Dan's BBQ barbeque restaurant and catering services would be well advised to visit the website and start building up their appetite today! The portions are huge! The flavor is huge! And the Service is the best in the nation! True Southern hospitality! Blues, Brews and BBQ...the good things in life!

What is your website address?
