Name of your website?Sundays Catering
Your name?
Chef Bolton
Your Location (city, etc)
Kansas City, MO
Please give us a short summary of your website?
Our website provides general information about Sundays Catering and it's services it provides to the Kansas City Catering Market. The site includes menus for sit down service, buffet catering service, breakfast catering service and wedding catering services.
What inspired you to launch your own website?
My love for the food industry and to gain exposure for the best catering company in Kansas City, MO.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
The first website I launched was Bo B Q's Apple Smoked Barbecue. Before we decided to add it to our catering menu, it was a stand alone product and a hit in the Kansas City Barbecue Scene. It's undoubtedly the best Kansas City Barbecue.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
It was easy. We thought it was only appropriate that since the name of our Catering is Company Sundays Catering, we decided to name the site Sundays Catering.
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
Our unique catering services are second to none. We care about our clients and it shows through our catering services and menus. We provide personable catering services to ensure a successful event.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
I'd like to add more menus and build a site with recipes. We definitely won't be selling it. It's our link to the Kansas City Catering Market.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
It's been a great investment for me (Chef Bolton). I'm the Chef/Owner, and I'm also technically savvy enough to build my own websites. That definitely helps our bottom line, and provides more information for local advertising.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
I'm not sure I'd change the website. I'd channel some of those funds to print advertising.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Our mission is to successfully cater each event. If we can't successfully cater an event, we won't accept it.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
The biggest headache was creating a concept and menu to go with that concept. I'm a diversified chef and can prepare all cuisine types. It was hard narrowing a menu to concentrate on what I was trying to deliver to the Kansas City market.
What has been your biggest challenge?
The biggest challenge is getting my name out there on a limited budget. We've had to endure some creative marketing to gain maximum exposure.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
I believe the most success comes from linking, and promotion software.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
My expectations have been fulfilled. I've figured out a formula to target specific keywords to help in getting top rankings with the search engines.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
I've successfully ran the site for two years now. We changed our domain name to match our company. The site will be around as long as Sundays Catering will be around and hopefully that will be for decades.
What would you change or do differently?
I would spend a little more time learning about SEO and optimize my site for the search engines a little better. I'm able to edit my pages to change menus and insert keywords. I'm happy with the current site. It represents our business, Sundays Catering accurately.
