Baker Hansen Oslo Interview

By Interviewer at 03/24/08 09:04

Name of your website?

Baker Hansen Oslo

Your name?

Chris Gjersvik

Your Location (city, etc)

Hasle Torg, East in Oslo

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Our web site not only promotes what we have to offer of services and products, but also have information about our company’s history. There are also several links to relevant websites which relates to the actual web page.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

For me it was unthinkable not having a web site concerning our business. Today the competition is very tough so it’s important to be where your customers are; World Wide Web and local media.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

The first website I made was http://xanadudive.com/ in 1999. This is a website for Xanadu Undersea Adventures in Freeport Grand Bahama.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

The domain name is the same as the business name and is was available.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

The high level of service and quality of our products; good value for your money!

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

To keep it for income.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

There is always a lot of time use when a new designed web site is made. Obviously in the beginning there will not be a normal earning compared to the amount of time used. But over time the investment will pay off as long as the web site is steadily being renewed and the content keeps a high quality.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I might have hired professionals who have specific “now how’s” in specific areas of web design and web promoting.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Yes

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Non

What has been your biggest challenge?

To make the site as user friendly as possible.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Google and local listings in Norway.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

It takes time to get traffic unless you use a lot of money on advertisement.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

This website has only been up since January 2008 and I’ll keep on update it for as long as I’m working with the Baker Hansen company.

What is your website address?

Baker Hansen Oslo
