'Tis Tasty Interview

By Interviewer at 01/23/09 08:25

Name of your website?

'Tis Tasty

Your name?

Grandma Alice Sanders

Your Location (city, etc)

Gold Beach

Please give us a short summary of your website?

We manufacture all natural jam jelly, dill and sweet pickles, relishes, salad dressings, flavored oils and vinegars, and gourmet gift baskets.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

I needed to expand my selling field from the southern Oregon coast.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

I launched my first web site in 1998 as 'Tis Tasty.com

How did you decide on a name for your website?

This name just came to me one night when I was contemplating selling spices and spice blends again.

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

I have a large varied assortement of all natural products all in one spot.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

My goal is to keep my stie and continue to sell the all natural products throughtout the U.S.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

I am making a small living out of the proceeds but nothing special. My success has been great both on the web and at Farmer's Markets here on the southern Oregon coast.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I prefer to stay small and keep my hands-on policy that I have now for quality control.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

I have people who work with me now where we could easily handle the quick growth.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Problems getting jars and the jar costs and shipping costs that keep exploding!

What has been your biggest challenge?

Doing my web site and getting it marketed properly.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

getting listed in the search engines and getting my site optimized.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

I run out of time to do justice to the site. Just had it optimized by a professional as I had run out of time.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

I have run the site since its birth and will continue to keep the site going.

What is your website address?

'Tis Tasty
