Cast Bakery Italian Pastries and Cookies Interview

By Interviewer at 01/27/09 14:26

Name of your website?

Cast Bakery Italian Pastries and Cookies

Your name?

Tony Cast

Your Location (city, etc)

New Castle

Please give us a short summary of your website?

We have some of our cookies and pastries online baked fresh and ready to ship anywhere in the US and Canada. Specializing in American and Italian Pastries and Cookies using scratch recipes and Old-Fashioned style scratch methods. We have been in business since 1962 and are proud to offer our baked goods now online.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

With the internet ever-changing and becoming more and more widespread every day. I am a third generation of bakers in the family, with a background in web development, I am proud to offer our Baked Goods online. However, I do not plan to offer just our Bakery online. I plan to offer an experience with our site, so that users may frequent back who enjoy baking as much as I do. I plan to add a listing of recipes soon with an interactive section so that people who would like to post their favorite recipe, may do so on our website.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

I first launched our bakery website for the local business and that url is: http://billsbakeshop.com/

It is still up and running as it serves the purpose of some local information in the community. Such as Wholesale and some Retail Bakery information on the site.

The main site http://castbakery.com/ is mainly for selling Italian Pastries, Cookies Trays, Biscotti and more of our other Baked Goods online.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

Easy, It is the name of my Grandfathers Bakery started in 1962.

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

I plan to offer an experience to not only sell baked goods online but endorse the people who like to bake like myself. So the recipes section I am very proud to be working on currently.

What is your eventual goal?

Baking is a far less used trade and I hope to inspire some people to enjoy baked goods as much as I do! With the local bakeries far less common as they used to be, and many people now can just buy a ready made mix for cookies for example; I believe the home baked breads and pastries may fade out.

What is your website address?
