Name of your website?

Guide to Cooking

Your name?

Cecil

Your Location (city, etc)

Fish Hoek

Please give us a short summary of your website?

This is a cooking site for hobbyists, cooks and culinary chefs. In fact for anyone interested in the art of cooking. Submit your own recipe, article or search the large database for tips, products, instructions, recipes for special occasions and much much more.

What inspired you to launch your own website?

I wanted to share the joy of food preperation with others. Putting as many resoursed as possible in one website.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

This is my first website and it was launched in June this year.

How did you decide on a name for your website?

I based the name on what it is. A Guide to Cooking.

What makes it different from other, similar offerings?

Good question. I would say that all offerings are similar. I am striving to give direction in all matters relating to food preperation.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

To keep and grow the site.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

Hard to tell. The site is still in its infancy. Time will be the judge.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

I would not. I like the site as it is. Perhaps add a few more pages for additional information.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

Yes

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

The only headache is to get my site known to those that can benifit from it

What has been your biggest challenge?

Getting my site known. This is still my biggest challenge.

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

At this stage. Google adwords.

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

My expectations are long-term. Till now it has been fun.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

Since June as mentioned above. I will let the site run for as long as it has a following.

How do you rate your site

Pretty good. Time will be the judge.

What is your website address?
