Mama's Gals Kitchen Interview

By Interviewer at 01/20/09 11:25

Name of your website?

Mama's Gals Kitchen

Your name?

Sally Johnson

Your Location (city, etc)

Kemp,

Please give us a short summary of your website?

Kitchen store with all your kitchen needs. We offer cookware sets, bake ware, dinnerware sets that is strong enough for everyday and elegant enough for entertaining. All types of kitchen gadgets and kitchen utensils. Picnic baskets for fun. Gift baskets and kitchen decor. Check out this store www.mamasgalskitchen.com

What inspired you to launch your own website?

Love the kitchen and the memories of my Mother and Aunts. Along with the food they cooked, but the talk, the memories and the laughs in the kitchen.

When did you launch your first website, and what was it?

We lauched our first website in November 08. It is Mama's Gals Kitchen. www.mamasgalskitchen.com

How did you decide on a name for your website?

Thinking of our Mom and her wonderful cooking. A tribute to our female relatives who enhanced our memories

What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?

We are a retail website and are in it to increase our income. But, most of all we enjoy the kitchen, the memories, the laughs and that is why we decided to go with a kitchenware store. The love in the heart of the home. The kitchen will always be the heart of the home. We not just meals are prepared but memories for a lifetime.

What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)

Keep it for income. hopefully to pass on to our children, so they can enjoy staying home and making their own memories.

How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?

Well, we are just starting, so the investment of time and money does not balance well with our success right now. We spend a lot of hours on the web. But like the old saying.. You never get anything for nothing. Every adventure you take in life requires work and commitment.

If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?

We would be able to pay for advertising more. It would help to get our website exposed to more areas, but we dont so we just keep plugging.

If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?

We would be able to. We are ready and a challenge is good in life. It keeps you on your toes.

What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?

Just trying to get our website seen. Getting quality products and drop shippers

What has been your biggest challenge?

Advertising on a very small budget

What method has been most successful for promoting your website?

Word of mouth. Directories. and just plain work

How has running your website differed from your expectations?

It has been a challenge that is a fact.

How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?

We have had the website for only a couple of months. We intend to keep it for our lifetime and hopefully our childrens lifetime, if one of them decide to take it over.

What is your website address?
