What inspired you to launch your own website?
It was born out of our passion about vines and wine with its related décor and accessories. Our interest began 25 years ago, when we decided to add grape vines to our beautiful garden and fruit trees. Consequently, the vines produced a large and wonderful harvest of grapes each year,which resulted in the making of jelly and wine. We’ve been “hooked” ever since. That passion about wine things, when added to our business experience of more than 30 years, has led to this business that we are very excited about.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
This is our first of six websites that we will be developing within our business, Target Success Solutions, Inc.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
Brainstorming and our son-in-law came up with the awesome solution of "Cool Wine Racks." We added the Plus, as we offer much more than just wine racks.
What makes your website different from other, similar offerings?
For one thing, our company is within Texas, which is one of the largest producers of wonderful wines. The mix of items that we have comprised of are unique and quality wine-related products. Additionally, while we offer these fine products, it is not as much about products, but about people being able to better enjoy their lives through the use of the items we provide.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
Our goal is to attain a very successful business and retain it for our future quality of life and enjoyment in helping others to do the same.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
While still a fairly new business, we are on our way to seeing a success that overcomes our investment of time and money.
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
If we had an unlimited development budget, we would put more into fine tuning the site and obtaining more sophisticated internet marketing expertise and methods, which would provide and implement all of the very best internet marketing techniques.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes. We have the knowledge and capabilities to suffice. Currently, we are working it on a part-time basis. As the website business grows, we will have the required time to invest into its growth.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Haven't really had any. We have had to spend a bit more on marketing, but that is it.
What has been your biggest challenge?
Overcoming our lack of knowledge regarding internet marketing and the actual website construction and development.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
Search Engine Optimization. We have begun to implement other marketing techniques, i.e., link partners as well as adding to directories, which is beginning to show promise.
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
It hasn't.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
We have only run it for a little over 6 months, and will keep it (in addition to others we are soon to add on) indefinitely.
