Please give us a short summary of your website?

What inspired you to launch your own website?
The online side of the business is quite new, and orriginally it was started to offer our clients an alternative way to order. Since then it has grown into a very useful tool, for both our current clients and potential new ones.
When did you launch your first website, and what was it?
The current website was launched a year or so agao, replacing our rather inadequate old one.
How did you decide on a name for your website?
The site is the same name as the company name
What makes it different from other, similar offerings?
We are small and can deliver a more personal service than other retailers, while still being able to provide the widest range of products and design services.
What is your eventual goal? (To sell it, keep it for income, secure a book or other mainstream media deal?)
The website is designed to give our current customers an alternative way to place orders, and its also for attracting new ones. Although the website will have further development it wont change significantly.
How does your investment of time and money balance against your success?
The innitial outlay of time and money was quite large, but since then the maintainance costs and time involved has fallen, and revenue has increased!
If you had an unlimited development budget for development, how would you change your site?
Most of the changes would be to do the the admin login, allowing more power to our staff to implement changes. Some more SEO work could be done on the site, but as for the clients usability of the site, very little would change.
If your site got really big, really quickly, would you be able to keep up with the demand?
Yes of course. We would welcome as much business as we can get through the website.
What unexpected costs and headaches have you had to deal with?
Changes to the company set up have had to be reflected in the website.
What has been your biggest challenge?
The biggest challenge was getting a website company to build the site who we trusted for the long term. A lot of website companies go out of business and so you wouldnt want to be left without someone who can help with your site.
What method has been most successful for promoting your website?
google is clearly our best form of advertising
How has running your website differed from your expectations?
The promotional side of the site is more thn i expected, but the rest is just like we planned.
How long have you run the site already, and how long will you continue to keep it up if you don't enjoy big gains in traffic, income or popularity?
Personally I have been running the site for a short period of time, but I hope to continue well into the future
